We began planting the Chambourcin and Norton for the addition to the Winery Vineyard today. We evaluated a soil pit with the expertise of Tom DeWitt earlier and it was determined that internal water drainage would be adequate, so berms were not necessary. We are beginning to see a few Japanese beetles out in the field and expect a lot more before it is all over. Hopefully they will not be as damaging as last year.
