Mushroom production workshop held today

The Mushroom Production Workshop was held today and went well. The morning sessions consisted of lecture presentations and in the afternoon the participants toured four separate stations – Preservation, Shroom Room and Compost Display, Mushroom Pod, and Packaging Cooler / Sales area. This project is funded by the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program and the USDA. Willow Mountain Mushrooms, University of Missouri Extension and Missouri State University Darr College of Agriculture were all involved in the workshhop.

Brenda Paul presented information on mushroom preservation through freeze drying. She also discussed other methods of food preservation.
