While the crew was thinning the pears today, Randy detected something wrong with some of the fruit. The fruit had something orange and white growing on it. With further research and inspection it appears to be a rust disease. The field crew placed shade cloth on all 4 greenhouses today. They start by rolling out the shade cloth, tie ropes to the corners and middle and throw it over the top. Once ropes are over the cloth is slowly pulled over and positioned. Then it is tied and secured to the greenhouse.
