GEO 200 Added to General Education Public Issues Area of General Education

In May 2017 GEO 200 was approved for addition into the Course Offerings for the Public Issues area of the General Education Program.

GEO 200 Exploring Our Digital Earth

General Education Course (Focus on Public Issues). Prerequisite: 12 hours.

An exploration of the geospatial technologies related to digital Earth with a focus on their applications in our current world. Topics include geospatial data, digital mapping, geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), and remote sensing. This course uses a wide range of geospatial technology software freely available on the Internet, and provides an introduction to geospatial technologies as critical thinking and inquiry tools. Credit hours: 3.0
