All GGP seminars are free and open to the public. Seminars begin at 2:30 P. in Temple Lecture Hall 002, unless noted otherwise.
Friday, October 22nd: Dr. Sarah Praskievicz, UNC, Greensboro, Associate Professor of Geography, Environment, and Sustainability, will present: “Fog, Fire, and Forests: Ecohydrology and Eco-geomorphology in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park”
Friday, November 5th: Dr. Robert W. Nairn, Presidential Professor in the School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science and Director of the Center for Restoration of Ecosystems and Watersheds (CREW), University of Oklahoma: “Engineering and the Nature of Change: Stream Recovery in Mining-Disturbed Watersheds through Ecologically Engineered Passive Treatment Systems”
Friday, November 12th: Dr. L. Allan James, Distinguished Professor Emeritus, University of South Carolina, Department of Geography, will present: “Legacy Sediment in the New World: Theoretical and Practical Concerns”
November 15th – 19th: National Geography Week: “Geo-Spatial Issues, Global Citizenry, and Effective Decisions” is the 2021 theme.
