Congratulations, Dr. Michelfelder!

His research on volcanic eruptions has been featured in Mind’s Eye.

The research of Dr. Gary Michelfelder has been selected for the 2022 issue of Mind’s Eye.  

Spending the last 15 years studying the Rio Grande Rift and the Andes Mountains in Chile, his research aims to answer how and why volcanoes erupt in hopes to improve forecasting. 

Here’s an excerpt from the story: 

“I was lucky enough to get to go to a conference in Japan that just happened to coincide with the volcano erupting.” 

“Every volcano is its own animal, so to speak, and it behaves differently every time it erupts.”
