Little House on the Prairie: The Musical comes to our stage this Friday! We are hearing great things about the show from other cities where it has been performed. The four performances this weekend promise to be heart-warming and entertaining.
There are few girls and women that do not know the name Laura Ingalls Wilder. She wrote a series of books, which came to be known as “Little House Books,” based on her life experiences growing up on the American frontier. Her stories became the inspiration for a television series, Little House on the Prairie, which ran for 10 years. In the television series, “Laura” was played by Melissa Gilbert. Now, she returns to telling the stories of Little House as “Ma” is this musical rendition.
The characters and stories that charmed countless readers and audiences will come to life on stage with singing and dancing this weekend at Hammons Hall.
Fun Fact: Little House on the Prairie: The Musical has partnered with Habitat for Humanity, raising awareness for affordable housing and committing to donating a portion of all proceeds from the show to the local Habitat for Humanity organization in each city they visit.
Fun Fact: Little House on the Prairie: The Musical has also partnered with The Seeing Eye, a national organization that enhances the independence of people who are blind through guide dog services. The musical captures the real life story of Mary Ingalls, the eldest daughter who became blind but flourished as she regained her independence.
