Who doesn’t want to represent the Lollipop Guild? Springfield Little Theatre’s Young Artists get to live the dream, as they perform the roles of the “munchkins” in The National Tour of THE WIZARD OF OZ performances in Springfield.
These 12 local girls will be in all three performances of THE WIZARD OF OZ at Hammons Hall. They will earn real-life theatre experience, working with a professional company, learning choreography and being fitted for costumes. By the first performance on Friday, April 16, these aspiring actresses will be ready to dance and sing in the Land of Oz.
Springfield Little Theatre’s Young Artists are one of seven troupes that represent SLT’s education program. The troupes currently have approximately 150 members and are trained weekly in acting, dance, singing and improvisational skills. Hammons Hall’s “munchkins” are Abbey Belt, Lydia Biamonte, Evy Bills, Allie Carder, Madison Carroll, Maridan Chaney, Ruth Anne Chaney, Sarah Cummings, Olivia Henderson, Hannah Hunt, Kate Beth Nichols and Olivia Tyson.
