…as the Hall rocked last night with the full complement of “Hot Tuna casserole”…musical legends Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady, Barry Mitterhoff, Charlie Musselwhite – and Jim Lauderdale, who, as he told the story from the stage, passed up a gig with Gwyneth Paltrow (he was a part of her band in Country Strong) because of his commitment to the Hot Tuna Blues show and Springfield’s Hammons Hall audience. It was truly a musical smorgasbord – blues, folk, country, and killer rock and roll…not to mention that “the guy on backup guitar” was the great G.E. Smith! If you were here, you were royally entertained – it you missed it, you missed one of the best shows of the season.
