Summertime is a busy time at Juanita K. Hammons Hall, as we announce our upcoming 2026-2027 Great Southern Bank Broadway Season, welcoming back current subscribers and new subscribers as well.

This year, we are also celebrating 35 seasons of bringing Broadway to audiences at Hammons Hall, and we’re incredibly excited to offer three new touring shows – along with the long-awaited return of THE LION KING!

You won’t want to miss our opening show, BEETLEJUICE (October 27-29, 2026), a hilarious musical based on Tim Burton’s “dearly beloved” film. It tells the story of Lydia Deets, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes! It’s a remarkably touching show about family, love – and making the most of every Day-O.

Springfield’s best-loved musical, Disney’s THE LION KING (December 2-13, 2026) returns to Hammons Hall for a two-week run! Tony Award®winning director Julie Taymor brings to life a story filled with hope and adventure, set against an amazing backdrop of stunning visuals, with some of Broadway’s most recognizable music crafted by Elton John and Tim Rice. There is simply nothing else like THE LION KING.

SHUCKED (January 19-21, 2027). This corn-fed, corn-bred, Tony Award®-winning American musical comedy features an unlikely hero, a lovable con man, and an a-maize-ing battle for the heart – and soil – of Cob County. Maizie and Beau are getting hitched, when the corn that protects their small community starts to die. The town needs answers – but who will dare to venture beyond the borders of Cob County?

Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE: The Neil Diamond Musical (May 4-6, 2027) is the true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chartbusting, show-stopping American rock icon with 120 million albums sold, a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award, and sold-out concerts around the world that made him bigger than Elvis.
