WHAT’S YOUR FAVE?

August 31, 2026 by Juanita K. Hammons Hall

The end of summer brings all kinds of anticipation. School starts…we can see the light at the end of the tunnel for heat waves…it’s time to start shopping for fall clothes and thinking about upcoming holidays. And, here at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, we’re anticipating the opening of our 2026-2027 Great Southern Bank Broadway Season!

Dates for the Broadway Season are dependent on touring show schedules – we’ve been known to present our first Broadway offerings in late August and certainly in September. This season asks us to wait just a bit longer – the opening performances are in mid-October, with a three-day run of a hilarious new stage treatment of a classic crazy comedy (“Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice”).

The wait is worth it – we’re thrilled to present a season that includes three shows that are new to our market, plus the return of a family classic!

BEETLEJUICE (October 27-29- 2026) is based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film and features a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes!

Disney’s THE LION KING (December 2-13, 2026) returns to Springfield with its story of hope and adventure set against an amazing backdrop of stunning visuals and featuring some of Broadway’s most recognizable music from Elton John and Tim Rice.

SHUCKED (January 19-21, 2027) is a new, Tony Award®-winning American musical comedy about an unlikely hero, a loveable con man, and an amazing battle for the heart – and soil – of Cob County. The Wall Street Journal calls it “flat out hilarious”!

A BEAUTIFUL NOISE, THE NEIL DIAMOND MUSICAL (May 4-6, 2027) Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself and set to the songs that defined his career, this show tells the story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chart-busting, show-stopping American rock icon.

Then join us for these amazing national touring productions. Broadway season tickets and single tickets to BEETLEJUICE are currently on sale, with on-sale dates for the remaining shows TBA. More information about the 2026-2027 Great Southern Bank Broadway Season is available at HammonsHall.com.
