Registering for the Spring Semester (Spring 2019)

October 10, 2018 by drb1982

With the spring schedules posted, it’s time to start planning the upcoming semester. You may have already noticed all the different flyers of upper division history courses posted around the department. You can view the complete list of history courses offered in the department by running a class schedule search through your My Missouri State portal. Keep in mind that HST 300+ courses are more reading and writing intensive and therefore it is generally recommended that you have taken or concurrently are registered in a writing II course, preferably HST 210. Note also that you will need to have a total of 50 credits or more to register for 500 level history courses.

You should plan to meet with your advisor at least 3 weeks prior to your registration date. We recommend meeting with your advisor even if you do not need a release to register, mainly to ensure you will be meeting your program requirements and taking the correct prerequisites. Always review your degree audit beforehand. If you are a HST-BS major, be sure to fill out your track sheet before your meeting. If you are a HST-BSEd major, you can use the online scheduling link to make your appointment with your advisor; this program includes GPA and certification requirements which must be met at certain stages of your progress.

The registration sequence will begin on October 30, 2018 at 7.00 AM. Since your registration date is based on the number of credits you have earned so far, we recommend that you check your specific registration date by following the instructions found on the Registration sequence page published by the Office of the Registrar.
