We are excited to announce that we have selected Ellucian – Cornerstone as our new Professional Learning Management System replacing our Avatar LMS system. The system was selected by a cross disciplinary evaluation committee consisting of representatives from the Office of Human Resources, Administrative Services, and Information Services. Many of our University workforce had an opportunity to view and provide feedback at the vendor demonstration back in January for this system.
Key milestones for implementation
There are key milestones that we need to meet in order to successfully close out our current LMS (Avatar) in preparation for the go live with our new PLMS, Cornerstone OnDemand since the systems will not be running simultaneously. The goal of our committee is to minimize the impact on both our workforce and University Education Units that provide training for the University.
- Now through May 16, 2016 – All University Education Units should post their training classes in My Learning Connection that they plan to schedule for meeting dates that occur on or before June 30, 2016. (We will not be posting Fiscal Year 2017 class dates in the old system for registration.)
- April 25, 2016 – Information Sessions for LMS Admins – Session is designed to provide information on finlizing attendance data and updating of transcripts information in preparation for the loading our historical data into the new system. We will also provide information on closing out this year’s classes to include the noncredit fee waiver benefit. Please register online in My Learning Connection, search under the Human Resources category to locate and just select 1 of the 3 times offered.
- April 25 – 28, 2016 – CornerStone OnDemand will be onsite to work with MSU’s Core Implementation Team.
- May 2, 2016 – All University Education Units should have updated attendance and issued credit to employees for classes attended through April 29, 2016 in the LMS system.
- May 3, 2016 – Information Sessions for LMS Admins – Provide an interim update on the implementation process in regards to data, set up, administrator training, and rollout of new system. Please register online in My Learning Connection, search under the Human Resources category to locate and register.
- May 22, 2016 – The last day employees can register for classes in My Learning Connection and apply their noncredit fee waiver towards paid classes in the system for fiscal year 2016. Individual University Education Units should print their attendance rosters for classes occurring between May 22, 2016 and June 30, 2016 for tracking employee attendance.
- May 23, 2016 – The My Learning Connection link will no longer be available to our workforce or University Education Units. Historical data will be brought over to the new PLMS, Cornerstone OnDemand.
