Well folks, we’ve reached the end of the road for our trip to Dallas. It’s been such an amazing week and it’s crazy to think that it’s already coming to an end. Not only did I have an eye opening experience while working with the youth of Dallas, I made some incredible, life-long friends.
Today was our free day and we went to this awesome science museum and stayed for 2 hours (although I’m sure we could’ve stayed all day long). Afterwards we went to the JFK museum, and as a history dork, let me tell you, it was even better than I imagined. We toured Dallas some more and spent a majority of the time laughing.
I think the most accurate way to describe this week would be these two words: love and laughter. I felt more love and sore tummies from laughter this week than I have in the last year and I owe it all to the incredible children and friends with me in Dallas. The kids taught me that everyone deserves and needs love, and my new friends taught me that everyone has a little bit of crazy in them. So to the silly, loud, demanding and perfect little angels I met this week: thank you for being your bright, happy little selves. You reminded me of the things that truly matter in life. And to my pack of ridiculous, lovable herd of friends: thank you for being your dorky selves and always making my day. I wish I could spend every minute of every day doing service with all of you. I’m so beyond thankful for this perfect, crazy, sore-tummy, love-filled week.
