Making a Change

March 15, 2017 by Elizabeth Wyman

Being in New Orleans and trying to making a difference in a place that needs it most is very special. Many people do not get this opportunity to do something so far out of their communities. Today we finished at our first site and I felt so accomplished. I love being able to do something bigger than myself and serving others. Giving to a part of the town that has kinda been forgotten about just to let them know that we have not. Katrina happened in around 2005 almost 12 years ago and the ninth ward is not the place on the top priority list. I love that habitat is trying to help them as long as they can. However, the area is almost getting to expensive to make as many as they would like to. I glad i get to be apart of the great things they are doing. Many people would not give up their spring break to volunteer, but I am so happy I did.
