Today was a day full of joy and excitement. We were able to serve at a different location today called Vogel Alcove. When we got there this morning we were greeted with a staff full of smiles. They made us feel so welcome and gave us a tour of Vogel Alcove. It was so great to see all of the classrooms and different resources that they have available to the families. Once we were done with our tour, we were able to help out in a classroom. I was able to help out in the preschool room. When I got in the classroom, we took the students to a room that worked on STEM. It was so great to see the students playing together with water, babies, sand, and so much more! After that, we went outside and were able to enjoy the amazing weather! The students immediately went to the sand box where we were able to make chocolate chip pizza, find buried treasure, etc.! It was so fun watching the students use their imagination and working together. After play time, we went inside and got ready for lunch. The students eat family style at Vogel Alcove, so we all sat at the same table and were able to talk about what we did today that we enjoyed. A lot of students talked about their time in the sand box. After lunch, they all got ready for a nap. Once they were asleep, I was able to talk to the teacher and learn more about Vogel Alcove. It was great to see her passion for the students and how much she truly loved each child. Something I really enjoyed about today was watching each kid just be a kid. The kids are able to learn and play with their friends and have 3 meals a day. Vogel Alcove is a safe place for them to go and it was so fun being able to be there to help them with their daily routine. I am so excited to go back tomorrow! After a day full of service, we were able to go to the walking bridge and talk about our favorite parts of the day! It was so fun to walk around today and see more of Dallas.
