Introduction to Trip leader

Hi, my name is Joe Elbert. I am a junior at MSU and I am majoring in special education. I am co-leading with Shelby Borchert the trip to Aurora, Colorado and me and my partner can not wait for this trip. I was a participant on the Dallas trip last year and that was such a good experience that I wanted to lead a trip this year. I’ve held leadership positions before and I can’t wait to serve in Aurora Colorado.

Pre-Trip Planning

Shelby and I have been planning this trip for a couple months. Shelby has been doing an awesome contacting our community partner, Children’s Hospital Colorado. We have also developed out EOT plan. Both of us plan on educating our participants on what happens with therapeutic play. We will continue to contact our community partner on any other training we will need before we get to Aurora. We have also selected our participants and we are currently contacting them to see if they want to be on our trip. Overall, I am very pleased with were I am at with the trip.
