Let’s Focus in on Community Revitalization
“It takes a village to raise a child.”
A child’s zip code shouldn’t determine his or her destiny, but today, the neighborhood they are raised in may impact their growth and outcomes in many ways. How can a child focus in school if their core needs are not being met? It is tough to maintain good health, get an education, or reach your full potential if you are not receiving nutritious meals and not living in a safe place. Creating opportunities to volunteer with a focus of community revitalization is one step closer to ending homelessness and hunger.
T Minus 39 DAYS!
Wow, look at how time flys. I don’t know about you guys but I can’t wait to bring this amazing group of MSU student to my favorite city– NOLA. We will be truly immersing ourselves in the city of New Orleans and have will be creating a connection to the city that no tourist walking up and down Bourbon Street could ever experience. The people that welcomed me into their homes last year and shared their life stories with me are something I will never forget. I have concluded from last year’s experience that the city of New Orleans will always be a great city, not from the Cajun food and unique architecture, but because of the spirit that connects the community.
