Hello all! I’m super excited to be a leader for the Spring Break Chicago trip. I’ve always wanted to visit Chicago. There’s the Bean, deep-dish pizza, 360 Observation Deck, and Crime Tours just to name a few things. One of the things I’m most curious about though is how similar or different the social issue is for this immersion trip compared to the other two trips I’ve participated in. Last Spring Break I went to Dallas, where the social issue was social and educational justice. This past Fall Break I went to Oklahoma City, where the social issue was homelessness and hunger, like this years upcoming Spring Break trip.
I’m looking forward to witnessing what homelessness and hunger is like among Oklahoma City, Chicago, and Springfield. I’m wondering how different and similar the cities will be. They are extremely different from one another. Population type, location, socioeconomic statuses, etc. This is something I could research before the trip and include in my EOT. This is also something I could incorporate during the trip, and evaluate after.
