Changes announced to overnight parking regulations

August 3, 2012 by Strategic Communication

To all Springfield Faculty, Staff, and Students:

Effective August 1, 2012, overnight parking on Missouri State University parking lots with a yellow commuter permit will no longer be authorized.  Overnight parking is defined as between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

MSU students, staff, and faculty that have a University related need to temporarily park overnight during these hours (sponsored field trips, research or lab use, etc.) and have a yellow commuter permit may contact the Parking Administration Office at 700 E. Elm to request a temporary overnight permit at no charge.  Employees scheduled to work during these hours who have a yellow commuter permit may request a special permit authorizing parking during these hours, also at no charge.

Any other person wishing to regularly park in a University lot overnight will be required to purchase an overnight permit, available in the Parking Administration Office at 700 E. Elm, or on the Safety and Transportation website at http://www.missouristate.edu/safetran/11379.htm.

Overnight parking with this permit will be authorized only in Bear Park North (lot 43).

This does not affect overnight parking for any other parking permits.
