Kathy Davis, director of the Academic Advisement Center, was selected to serve as a mentor for the 2019-20 Class of Emerging Leaders for the National Academic Advising Association. She is one of only 10 selected internationally.
According to the award letter, “The purpose of the Emerging Leader Program is to provide an intentional and focused mentoring experience to those who are interested in becoming more involved in the association.”
Davis has served in this role twice previously. “She was selected because of her outstanding success with her previous mentees and commitment to the program as well as her involvement and leadership in the association.”
About the program
The Emerging Leader program is a two-year program. The mentors work closely with an Emerging Leader in the association and help the mentees gain skills, experiences and knowledge needed for leadership positions in the association.
Together, they develop a roadmap for the Emerging Leader’s involvement, taking into account the personal and professional skills and goals of the Emerging Leader.
