Dr. Kyler Sherman-Wilkins, assistant professor of sociology and anthropology, and David Johnson, academic advisor and retention specialist in the McQueary College of Health and Human Services, have been awarded Certificates of Merit of the Outstanding Advising Awards.
The awards come from NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising.
Sherman-Wilkins received the award in Faculty Academic Advising, while Johnson received that of the Academic-Advising Primary Role.
The NACADA Global Awards Program for Academic Advising honors individuals and institutions who make a notable impact on academic advising.
NACADA represents and advocates for those providing academic advising services in higher education.
The association strives to provide a network and professional identity for the thousands of faculty, full-time advisors, and administrators responsible for such academic advising roles.
