Dr. Arbindra Rimal, the Interim Department Head of Agricultural Business, Education and Communication, and Yi Winnie Wu, the Marketing and Recruitment Specialist of International Programs, visited Missouri State’s partner university, Ningxia University.
Dr. Rimal has been teaching an academic course, Wine Marketing, to students from Ningxia University for the past 3 years. Students in this course come through programs from the International Leadership and Training Center (ILTC). The program is the result of a partnership between Missouri State University and Ningxia University.
Dr. Rimal had the opportunity to visit local wineries and learn about the comparison of wine industries in the US and China. He also met with the Ningxia University Wine School Dean and other faculty members of the Wine School at Ningxia University. The meetings will lead to potential future collaborations between Ningxia’s Wine School and Missouri State’s College of Agriculture.
The most successful part of the trip was the seminar Dr. Rimal hosted for Ningxia University Wine Marketing students and local wineries. The topic was “Application of Marketing Concepts in the U.S. Wine Industry.”
“People were very receptive to some of the ideas presented in the seminar. We had nearly 200 participants including a number of local wineries. I got to see a number of wineries. I was very impressed by the potential growth of Ningxia wine Industry. I look forward to further collaboration,” Dr. Rimal said.
