The Morris Center dedicated April’s First Friday ArtWalk to Asia in celebration of the Asian Heritage Month.
Several student organizations hosted tables representing their countries and culture. India and Nepal were represented by the South Asian Student Association (SASA), South Korea was represented by the Korean American Students United (KASU), Vietnam was represented by the Vietnamese Students Association (VSA), China was represented by Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) and Saudi Arabia was represented by the Saudi Club.
Attendees learned about the history of the countries represented and tasted delicious food that each of the organizations prepared. Some of the food that attendees were able to try included coffee and dates from Saudi Arabia, traditional Korean candies, rice from India, potatoes from Nepal, and spring rolls from Vietnam.
If learning about cultures and trying food from different countries is something that you enjoy, then join us at the Jim D. Morris Center the first Friday of every month and follow our Facebook page for more cool events and culturally engaging opportunities.
