Jim D. Morris Center is always fulfilled with cultural events. In August, two groups from ELI-Special Program (ELI-SP) and International Leadership and Training Center (ILTC) host a culture night for the Springfield community.
70 youth and 10 professors from a Japanese local high school spent 10 days at Missouri State for the Isesaki Culture Exchange program with ELI-SP. Students prepared traditional Japanese games, crafts and snacks in one room. Another room was solely for performing traditional songs, dances, yo-yo and more.
On another floor, the fun continued. 12 college students and one professor from Southwest University, Chongqing, China organized several Chinese cultural activities. Guests enjoyed calligraphy, traditional opera and instrument, painting, Chinese knotting, guessing lantern riddles, and more.
Students created all the promotional materials and activities. Their talents and hard work impressed the local community.
