The International Leadership and Training Center (ILTC) celebrated the completion of the Southwest University (SWU) Summer Program on August 24. It is the largest summer program that the ILTC has ever hosted. 58 students and 5 professors received their program certificates.
Brad Bodenhausen, Assistant Vice President of International Education and Training briefly introduced the summer program. 58 students are from College of Animal Science, College of Journalism and Communication, and College of Agronomy and Biotechnology. The ILTC provided customized content based English class, 1-2 academic class, field trips and sightseeings for the three different groups. Students also experienced several cultural activities, such as tennis match, baseball game, International Day, Japanese and Chinese culture night, and more.
Dr. Jim Baker, Vice President for Research and Economic Development and International Programs, and the faculty leader of SWU, Changwen Lyu, both made positive comments at the ceremony. Students from three groups all shared their videos to conclude their one-month life at Missouri State.
SWU has become one of the most important partner universities for Missouri State. SWU and MSU are both looking at collaborating more short-term and long-term programs in the future.
