Khebrat Finalizes Contract with Springfield Public Schools September 28, 2018 by Yi Wu On Sep 18 the School Board of Springfield Public Schools (SPS) ratified an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the ELI Khebrat program which has been in process since March of this year. The MOU includes SPS’s offer to host the Khebrat teachers for a 9-week school immersion experience, which is the culmination event of Khebrat’s 12-month teacher leadership training. The school board enthusiastically approved the partnership and expressed excitement about demonstrating to the community that SPS values diversity and professionals from other countries. 28 English teachers from Saudi Arabia started the Khebrat program with the English Language Institute in February, 2018. They have attended 6-month of English Skill training at the ELI and 6-week of teacher training. Starting from October, they will have an immersion experience in local schools, ended with a final project related to their individual goals.
