The Steinway Initiative
We have great news for music students! Since Ellis Hall’s renovation in 2017, the Music Department has another exciting project: the Steinway Initiative. This means that the newly renovated music building, Ellis Hall, will have Steinway pianos for all music students and faculty to use. These pianos are internationally known for their quality. In Ellis, there are two recital halls, three piano faculty rooms, and many practice rooms and studios for pianists as well as other instrumentalists and vocalists. Because all music students study piano at MSU, this will benefit the entire department. You can read more about the Steinway Initiative here.
We are very excited to support the Music Department in this initiative. This decision shows the students and faculty how important they are to the department. It also shows how dedicated the department is to the performing arts community by providing the best resources possible. So, thank you to everyone at Missouri State University and the College of Arts and Letters for supporting this decision.
