Dr. Suthipong Sthiannopkao has received the International Environmental Research Institute (IERI) grant via Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology. This award will allow him to continue his research in environmental science.
Dr. Sthiannopkao’s research proposal entitled “assessing relationship between water quality index and pollution load during extreme precipitation events of the Chao Phraya River, Thailand,” was selected to receive the International Environmental Research Institute (IERI)’s Research Grant 2018 at the amount of 10 million Korean won.
IERI is the research institute at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology in the Republic of Korea. IERI has supported many international research activities since 2004, to contribute to the resolution of environmental issues in the developing countries and to reinforce the research capacity of the developing countries.
This fund will enhance the presence of LNU-MSU College of International Business in the international arena, especially in Asia Pacific region with (1) publishing the research outcomes in a SCI journal, (2) establishing an academic network among Korea, Thailand, China and U.S.A., and (3) training local students to conduct research. Finally, research outcomes from this project will directly benefit the subject of environmental science (ENV 105) by being used as a case study of climate change impacts on water resources in Southeast Asia.
Such awards and scholarship from faculty are important to the reputation and quality of Liaoning Normal University and Missouri State University.
