International Education Week (IEW) is celebrated globally November 12-16. Missouri State’s celebration spans the month of November and includes performances, films, discussions, and so much food.

Tour of the Globe
The big kick-off to Missouri State’s celebration of cultures, Tour of the Globe, is held annually during November’s First Friday Art Walk. Missouri State students create cultural displays including music, art, dance, games, food, and more. The 2018 Tour of the Globe, themed, “Two Sides to Every Story,” featured 24 countries and an opportunity to learn more about what life is really like for international students at home.

The largest international student banquet of the year features foods from at least 7 countries and performances from almost 20 cultures. Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for students, and benefit the Association of International Students Scholarship Fund.

International Thanksgiving Dinner
Another annual event, International Thanksgiving Dinner, highlights traditional US Thanksgiving foods for international students to try. This free meal is open to all international students and includes the classics, like turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, and pumpkin pie.
