International Friends is excited to welcome Brenda Stewart as the new program coordinator. Her entrance follows the retirement of Joyce Eddy, a longtime participant, and most recent coordinator. 

Brenda has been with Missouri State since 2007 as a staff member in academic and administrative units. 

Brenda and her family have been involved in the program since 2013. They’ve hosted students from Brazil, China, Egypt, Mongolia, and Ukraine. Brenda most enjoys being a resource and extended family for students who are so far from home. 

Brenda has served in various other Missouri State student and community volunteer programs but lists International Friends as the most rewarding by far. She’s enthusiastically looking for ways to help faculty, staff, and community members find a rewarding connection with international students as well.

As a host, sharing experiences with the international students, and seeing these experiences through their new eyes is a wonderful memory that both of you will cherish. – Brenda Stewart
