The ELI has a new YouTube page with videos from current and past ELI students. We have several new playlists full of videos made by us and by alumni! You can also find video playlists that will tell you all about Springfield, Missouri and trips with our students. There are several ways you can join in the fun so keep reading…!
Go to the ELI YouTube page here and subscribe.
Many New Playlists
One playlist is called “Experiences from ELI Alumni”. If you’ve uploaded a video to YouTube about Springfield, the ELI, or MSU, then let us know. We’ll link to it in this playlist so other international students can learn more about us and our city.
The most recent playlist is called “The ELI & Idioms: Our Hands Down Favorites.” You probably know that “hands down” is an idiom that means there are no others worth considering ( = the best). In this video series, current students and alumni share their favorite idiom or phrase they learned at the ELI. This means ELI students can learn from each other. Watch one of the videos to see an example. At the end of the video are the instructions for how to create your own. We will add your video to our YouTube page. This is a great way to let others know you studied at the ELI!
More Content
There are also helpful videos for continuing English learning by our instructors and by others. Advanced English speakers will like the video about improving sentence stress by Jessica Elson who specializes in accent reduction. She has several more videos, all of which will help you practice what you learned at the ELI! In the “ELI Teachers and Students” playlist, you can even see an old video from 2012 in which Pascal opens with his own sound effects (it’s called “PASSPORT Program”).
Please help us out and watch our new videos and subscribe. It would be great if you could send us a video about your favorite idiom! Email us at ELI@MissouriState.edu.
