As we embark on a new year of learning and growth, we are thrilled to unveil a lineup of special programs that elevate your language journey to greater heights. At the English Language Institute (ELI), we understand that language is not all about listening, speaking, reading, and writing; it is also about cultural immersion, practical skills, and leadership skills.
One of the exciting special programs hosted upon request from partners is the Online Global Goals Academy (OGGA). The program aims to enhance all four English skills and deepen understanding of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Global Goals). This is achieved through an interactive program designed to engage students in hands-on research, showcasing how leaders address these Goals within the Springfield, Missouri community.
The asynchronous component of the course provides foundational knowledge of the Global Goals and relevant vocabulary that will support successful learning during the synchronous portion. In the live sessions students explore the impact of issues affecting the Springfield, Missouri local community, compare these with their community, and find out how leaders are addressing them here. In addition, students have the opportunity, with the guidance of a mentor, to conduct individual research on specific goals that have special meaning to them.
For any universities or organizations interested in and want to sign up for their students upon their need, please contact paulamoore@missouristate.edu for any request, and we will customize the course for YOU.
