The English Language Institute (ELI) at Missouri State University (MSU) has various divisions for English language learning. As one of the divisions, the Teacher Training Program offers a platform for ESL (English as a Second Language)/ EFL (English as a Foreign Language) instructors to enhance and polish their teaching abilities. By utilizing innovative methods and materials, the division aims to guarantee student achievement and advancement in language learning.
The Teacher Training unit has organized many short and long-term programs for schools and individuals worldwide. These include the Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate from Cambridge English Language Assessment, Brazil’s PDPI English Teacher Program, and the Khebrat Saudi Teacher Training Program, among others. We are one of the only two universities in the United States to offer CELTA.
This year the ELI through the Teacher Training Program is excited to announce the Education Major Immersion Program. The program aims to enhance participant’s English language abilities in an interactive setting and familiarize them with the U.S. education system. Participants will work on improving their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills along with practicing effective English presentations. Stay connected for more exciting happenings in the 2024 Education Major Immersion Program.
The ELI offers customized programs depending on the learner’s needs. For anyone interested in such English language programs please contact paulamoore@missouristate.edu for any inquiries.
