Starting in Fall 2025, the English for Academic Purposes program (EAP), in partnership with the Language, Culture and Religion department, the International Services office and the Foreign Language Institute, will be launching the I Succeed Course Package for international students. This initiative is designed to provide new international undergraduate students with tools to find their place at Missouri State University and to succeed academically. Students will take one-semester package of 5 courses (totaling 14 credits) to learn about being an MSU student, explore American culture and refine their academic language skills. In addition to the 5 courses, student will receive personalized advising and opportunities to interact with international and domestic peers outside of the classroom.
In addition, new international undergraduate students taking the 5 courses during their first semester will receive the IPFW Scholarship. The course package will be available as an opt-in for any new undergraduate international students or will be prescribed for admissible students with English proficiency in the high B1 range. Other international students looking to hone their language or culture skills will be welcome to enroll in any of these courses as electives.
I Succeed Course Package is both recruitment and retention effort designed to better serve our international students and support academic advisors and faculty. Go Bears!
