The Missouri State University telephone system is partially down this morning. The outage affects legacy phones in Glass Hall and some surrounding buildings. VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phones are not impacted. Staff have been dispatched to the site, but the cause of the failure is currently unknown. Networking and Telecommunications is striving to restore service as quickly as possible.
Mark Harsen says
Legacy telephone services have been restored and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephone services were never impacted.
A communications failure caused contact to be lost with the gateway serving legacy analog and proprietary digital telephones in Glass Hall and surrounding areas. VoIP services use the campus network for communications so no telephone outages occurred for these users.
We apologize for any inconveniences this outage may have caused. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
