Halloween Safety

• Don’t accept drinks from strangers and watch your drink at all times
• Remember to eat before drinking and drink plenty of water.
• Don’t hesitate to call for help if a friend passes out or becomes sick.
• Dress for the weather, regardless of your costume.
• Always carry photo identification and keep your keys with you so that you can get home.
• Don’t drink and drive. If you are going somewhere, designate a sober driver.
• If you’re driving, make sure to watch out for children who may be outside or on the streets.
• Honor everyone’s right to live and feel safe in the Springfield community, including fellow students, campus neighbors and downtown business owners.
• Look out for your friends and fellow students. If someone is in trouble, reach out and help them.
• Birth control does not protect against sexually transmitted infections
• Don’t wait until the heat of the moment to bring up safer sex.
• Be responsible for your own protection.
• Nothing is sexier than consent.
