We gathered in the Kentwood lobby before the bout to learn the rules of roller derby from Dr. Steve Berkwitz, who is not only the Department Head of Religious Studies at Missouri State, but used to be a roller derby referee! After learning rules and some strategy, we headed over to the Shine Mosque and took in a great bout of derby!
