Welcome Weekend 2017 is scheduled for August 18 – 20, 2017.  What is Welcome Weekend? Welcome Weekend, the weekend before classes start, is designed to welcome our students to campus, offering many activities on campus specifically designed to help them connect to the campus, make new friends and get ready for the first day of class, August 21, 2017. Some of the activities for students include PlayFair, Bear Bash, New Student Convocation, the Belong-B-Que, the Commuter Reception and the New Student Festival. Welcome Weekend is for all students, residential and commuter.

 

 

We also have activities for family members during Welcome Weekend. We hope you will make plans to join us for one or all of the activities. These include:

Family Welcome Session – Friday, August 18th, 3pm or 4pm – Join us for an interactive and fun welcome session that delves more into campus life for your student. There are two sessions and you are welcome to pick the session you would like to attend. Refreshments are served (and after a hot day of moving, you will enjoy the cool Plaster Student Union Theater and sweet treats). All family members are welcome. The first session starts at 3pm and the second session starts at 4pm. No RSVP required.

President’s Reception for New Families – Friday, August 18th, 7pm – Prime Overtime Club, JQH Arena – Join President Clif Smart and his wife Gail for a lovely dessert reception in the Prime Overtime Club in JQH Arena. Relax after a day of moving, visit with faculty, staff and administrators, enjoy delicious desserts provided by Missouri State Dining Services and mingle with other families of the Class of 2021 while your student enjoys Play Fair and other activities. Families only. RSP Required. Registration has opened. Register here!

“See You Later” Brunch – Saturday, August 19th, 11am – 1 pm – Garst Dining Center and Blair-Shannon Dining Center – Enjoy a delicious brunch with your student in Garst Dining Center or Blair-Shannon Dining Center before heading home. Parents eat free with their student. Additional guests are $6.50 each. No RSVP required
