Position title: Co-op Intern

Majors: Management, General Business, Supply Chain, Marketing or other related field

Academic level: Sophomore, Junior or Senior

Wage: $10.50–11.00 (plus potential profit sharing)

Requirements: Co-op must not graduate before Spring 2020 (preferred).  Must have strong Excel skills.

Job Description, Responsibilities, and Expectations

This is an excellent opportunity to learn entry level management, operations and supply chain functions at one of the area’s largest Building Materials Distribution company to the Professional Builder and Remodeler.  This program not only provides valuable experience and a part-time job opportunity at the General Office in Springfield, MO, but is also one of Meek’s major recruitment tools for post-graduation hiring.

In this assistant role, the student will learn various aspects of the building materials industry and will be exposed through hands-on work in Business Management. The student will primarily be working on special projects, so they must be able to work well with others and be proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Excellent analytical and organizational skills are required for this position.

The co-op will receive raises at six-month intervals, qualify for profit sharing, and have the potential for full-time employment after graduation. The co-op will work approximately 15–25 hours per week during semesters and 40 hours per week during the summer and school breaks if desired. A limited amount of “day-trip” travel may be required.

This position is at the General Office in Springfield, MO.
