On April 22, the Missouri State Ad Club, led by Dr. Jamie Grigsby, attended the American Advertising Federation (AAF)’s District 9 National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) in Kansas City.

The National Student Advertising Competition is the premier college advertising competition that provides more than 2,000 college students the real-world experience of creating a strategic advertising/ marketing/ media campaign for a corporate client. For the 2021-2022 competition, a corporate sponsor (client) provided an assignment outlining the history of its product and current challenge. Each student team then “pitches” its campaign to a panel of judges, which is conducted by professionals in the advertising, marketing and communications industry.

The AAF District 9 represents clubs & advertisers in the Central Region — Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. The competition is a great overall experience for students and young professionals looking to grow within the field of advertising, and Missouri State Ad Club came home with the “Small But Mighty” award for success as the smallest team at the competition!
