Job Description: The Inside Parts Sales Representative will reinforce Roadbuilders’ relationship with customers, by promoting parts sales and providing the most up to date communications. The Inside Parts Sales Representative will work directly with the Parts Manager and existing parts team to ensure the customers’ needs are met. The Inside Parts Sales Representative will be a trusted advisor and key communication partner for customers assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Increase parts sales opportunities with customers in order to grow revenue, including
consumables and commodities, service repairs, and undercarriage
• Prepare and present parts quotes to customers
• Grow RoadBuilders presence through complete understanding of customer’s fleet needs
• Provide aid, promotion, and training to assigned customer in the utilization of Komatsu
technology solutions including but not limited to MyKomatsu
• Document customer information to build comprehensive data base to include machine
lists, customer contacts, influencers, and Parts and Service purchasers
• Follow a routine follow up schedule on parts quotes to promote sales wins
• Promote current Parts marketing and sales programs to include New, Used, and All
Makes opportunities
• Develop and maintain partnerships with internal customers (Service and Sales)
• Maintain DAILY call reports/lead tracking
• Develop strong working relationship with mainline salesperson and PSSR for assigned
customers to form a strong support team for customers
• Leverage Komatsu parts and service initiatives to maximize margins and grow
discretionary funds
• Manage expectations and needs to prioritize customer needs against scheduling, parts
availability and down time
• Open to periodic travel by automobile and available to be away from home overnight
• Maintain a business professional appearance at all times
• Other duties as assigned by manager
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
• Dealership parts and service sales experience
• Experience with Komatsu and/or Takeuchi equipment
• High level of self-motivation
• Detail oriented with strong organization skills
• Skilled in priority management and goal completion
• Skilled in communication via the phone, email, and in person
• Proven record of building long term business relationships
• Proven experience in quote/sale conversion in competitive market
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Experience in customer facing sales with a proven track record of closing deals
• Competent in MS Excel / Word / Outlook
• Mechanical aptitude and experience in heavy equipment industry required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
