Position Overview: Summer Sales Internship

This internship places a strong emphasis on sales, giving interns direct exposure to lead generation, account outreach, and customer relationship building, while also providing foundational experience in the recruiting lifecycle. Interns will receive training, mentorship through shadowing and coaching, and work alongside the local team to drive results that directly impacts our business, consultants, and clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development (60%–70%)

  • Conduct outbound prospecting to identify and qualify potential clients.
  • Support account executives with lead research, market mapping, and target list development.
  • Learn to make sales calls, craft outreach messages, and nurture early-stage client relationships.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and client materials.
  • Participate in sales meetings, deal strategy sessions, and pipeline reviews.
  • Shadow sales professionals on client calls or visits to understand the full sales cycle.
  • Track activity metrics and provide weekly progress updates on outreach and lead generation efforts.

Recruiting & Talent Sourcing (30%–40%)

  • Source and screen candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and internal databases.
  • Conduct initial resume review and phone screens to assess candidates’ skills, interests, and job fit.
  • Support recruiters in managing interviews, follow-ups, and candidate communications.
  • Assist in writing and posting job descriptions and candidate outreach messages.
  • Learn fundamentals of the recruiting lifecycle including client meetings, qualification, negotiations, and offer processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree as a rising Senior.
  • Pursuing a sales degree, major or certification or member of a sales program on campus is preferred.
  • Prior customer service, campus leadership, or sales experience is a plus.
  • Strong interest in sales and business/client development.
  • Competitive, motivated, and comfortable working toward activity goals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
  • Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking ability.
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation: $16.50/hour; maximum 40 hours/week for 10 weeks

Position Overview: Entry Level Recruiter

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet with hiring managers to understand their needs.
  • Source qualified professionals through various recruiting tools.
  • Screen potential consultants through interviews and reference checks, while learning about their goals, skills, and interests to ensure alignment.
  • Communicate work opportunities and preparing consultants for starting their new roles.
  • Perform critical relationship-building activities, including coaching your consultants for interviews, checking in on their first day of work, and keeping in touch throughout their employment to ensure their satisfaction and engagement.
  • Maintain a network of consultants that align with top industry-specific skill sets.
  • Build trusted relationships with your network of professionals to ultimately be seen as a partner in helping them advance their career.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in customer service, leadership, or sales a plus.
  • Experience collaborating in a team-oriented environment.
  • Interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a performance-based environment.

Compensation: Paid 13-week training period. $45,000 base after training, increasing to $55,000 after one year. Top 10% earned avg. $68,000 in year one, $130,000 in year two, and $195,000 in year five (2024 data).

Position Overview: Sales Development Representative

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as talent solutions and services subject matter expert for respective territory.
  • Establish (and adjust when necessary) a list of target accounts and prospects using all available internal and external resources.
  • Identify, develop, and manage new and existing customer relationships by leveraging resources including but not limited to CRMs and external networking tools.
  • Conduct well-prepared face to face meetings with decision makers; get results by asking appropriate questions that qualify business and take advantage of opportunities to create value and meet client needs.
  • Increase sales and market share through assigned and newly generated accounts.
  • Maximize profitability by effectively negotiating bill rates and terms; ensure that direct labor rates are in line with market standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships within accounts by providing quality consultants, proactively market resumes of ideal candidates.
  • Perform sales related activities including but not limited to leading meetings at client sites and client manager, and consultant lunches.
  • Partner with the recruiting team in identifying top Sciences and Engineering talent to fulfill client needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, leadership, and/or sales (to include sales major/clubs/internships).
  • Strong desire for a career in Business-to-Business/relationship-based sales.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Sense of urgency, excellent presentation skills and a high standard of character and professionalism.
  • Strong propensity to learn as necessary.

Compensation: Paid 24-week training period. $60,000 base salary after training. Top 10% of account managers earned avg. $111,000 in year one, $145,000 in year two, and $343,000 in year five (2023 data). Includes $425/month car allowance and $100/month cell allowance after training.
