The College of Arts & Letters (COAL) is pleased to announce that the Missouri Fine Arts Academy (MFAA) will continue.
The 2017-2018 year is a planning year. COAL is currently seeking a Director of MFAA.
Description of primary duties
The Director will report to the Dean of the College of Arts and Letters and will also hold a tenure-track Assistant Professor joint faculty appointment that serves two of the following seven departments with teaching and creative contributions: Art and Design, Communication, Theatre and Dance, Music, English, Modern and Classical Languages and Media, Journalism and Film. The academy director is responsible for recruiting applicants and overseeing the selection process; communicating with applicants and their high school counselors and teachers; designing the curriculum and planning the entire three-week series of events and programs. Additional duties include maintaining records, communicating with MFAA alumni and establishing an alumni database, development activities that will eventually result in an endowment for the program, and promoting the program in the community and throughout the state.
