Taps Project honors veterans
The third annual Taps Project at Missouri State University follows the MSU Canteen show at 10:40 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, on the Bear Paw north of Plaster Student Union and west of the Missouri State Bookstore. Trumpeters across campus will play the 24 notes of military taps to signalize remembrance of the fallen. Missouri State Pride Band’s trumpet section, faculty and community trumpeters will play, led by Dr. John Prescott, professor of music, following the final stroke of the carillon’s eleventh bell (11 a.m.). All are asked to pause, listen and reflect on those who have sacrificed so much in public service. Please join us to honor those who have served and are currently serving in our United States military.
