Missouri State music professor and baritone, Dr. Chris Thompson, will join concert pianist and Missouri State alumnus, Steven Spooner, in a Jan. 12 performance to breathe life into Franz Schubert’s “Winterreise” — a wintry journey spanning the heights and depths of the human soul.

About the performers

Thompson and Spooner, now a professor at University of Kansas, have been friends and collaborators for more than 25 years. They were colleagues at the University of Idaho, have partnered on multiple recording projects and have performed together throughout the U.S. Their recording of “Winterreise” will soon be available to the public on iTunes, Amazon and a host of other platforms.
