In 1994, Missouri State University sponsored an initiative to bring western music composed by women into the former Soviet Union. During this initiative, in Kiev, Missouri State’s Dr. Cynthia Libby met Zhanna Kolodub. Kolodub, a composer from Ukraine, gave Libby manuscripts to be published in the West.
