Hello, my name is Shane Becker, I’m a senior majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Advertising and Promotion.
Growing up in Southwest Missouri with a sibling at MSU, the MO State culture was always rich in my life. I can’t think of a better way to finish my time at Missouri State than as a member of the Citizen Social Squad.
You can often catch me in Craig Hall, at Braum’s or on a tennis court at almost any given time. I also love to ski and travel with my friends.
Goals as a Social Citizen
My mission as a social media intern is to convince everyone that Strong Hall is the best building on campus, the library basement is the ideal study spot, and Garst late-night is better than Blair-Shannon.
In all seriousness, social media is very important right now. Many of us are taking online classes and are unable to congregate as usual, so our team has a big role to play in communicating with students. Students, as well as the general public, can look forward to posts that are informing, engaging and leave a positive contribution to their day.
As much as I would love to stick around another year, I plan to graduate in the spring. I have loved my time at MSU and will always have a piece of Springfield with me, no matter where I end up.
This school year looks very different. Social media platforms will enable the Missouri State community to stay connected through whatever circumstances life places us in. I am very excited to be a link in the virtual chain, keeping us all together.
