The Brick City Gallery’s Spring 2020 exhibition season was dynamic, exhilarating, and unprecedented. We returned from winter break with a photography exhibition, Take it From Here, followed by Textiles: A Social Media.

As we did our part to keep the Missouri State campus and Springfield community safe during the pandemic, the Brick City Gallery transitioned to a virtual platform for the BFA Senior Exhibition.

January 27 – February 22

Take it From Here featured a collaborative photography project from Zora Murff and Rana Young as well as a selection of photos from various artists exploring the theme of family curated by Zora and Rana.

Textiles: A Social Media
March 6 – April 10 (concluded virtually)

Curated by Jodi McCoy (Director of Exhibitions) and Amanda Smith (Assistant Professor), Textiles: A Social media featured work from Erin Castellan, Amy Jarding, Kayla Mattes, Yvonne Osei, Mckenzie Phelps, and Sheri Lynn Wood, six female artists utilizing textiles as a social media to engage in conversation about social justice issues. Because of the sudden onset of the pandemic, the exhibition concluded in a virtual format; you can explore the exhibition on our Instagram and Facebook page @brickcitygallery.msu
