Alumna uses simulations to plan for future space missions

The seminar will occur virtually 4 p.m. March 25.

The department of physics, astronomy and materials science is excited to announce that alumna Shannon Dulz will serve as a guest speaker at the department’s virtual seminar 4 p.m. March 25. 

Her presentation will take place over Zoom. 

Dulz is a doctoral student in the department of physics at the University of Notre Dame. She is also a participant in the Graduate Research Fellowship Program of the National Science Foundation. 

Dulz completed her bachelor’s degree at Missouri State University in 2017 with majors in physics and mathematics.

About her research 

Dulz explores simulations of planet populations. 

She will report on the progress of her research with a presentation titled “Cold Exoplanets: Ground-based Direct Imaging and Population Studies Planning for Future Space Missions.”
